missing ram?

I've just bought some ram (upgraded from 512 to 1g) but the print out below says: Total Physical Memory 1,024.00 MB

Available Physical Memory 511.14 MB

Does this mean that one of the memory modules is not being recognised? and that I'd have been better to stay at 512?

Thanks

It means you have a little more than half the ram in use... Any programs open?
