I want to switch hard drives, to a better and bigger one. eventually i will switch motherboards also, but i want to have xp on my new harddrive first. when i bought my pc, it had me make 11 recovery disks for it. would those disks happen to include the OS of xp on it? or would i have to use norton ghost to put the OS on the other harddrive? thanks.
Use Norton Ghost, don't bother with the recovery discs.

My experience of changing motherboards and using the same install od XP is a bad one. It can cause all sorts of errors. I would bite the bullet and do a full reinstall of XP after the MB change. But hey, thats just me.

norton ghost is best but if you change your mobo you will need to do a fresh install of windows

If you change the mobo... you might be able to run xp again... you would have to do a repair but it would still run poorly... Absolutley do a reinstall... I suppose you have norton ghost if your talking about it... I have used Acronis TrueImage and I like it alot... anyways.... do the reinstall it will be easier in the end.
