Installing an extra hard-drive.

Hello,

I use a pc with a 40gig HD and I want to install an extra HD of 80 gig.

Is this a relatively simple process or is there anything I should be careful of?

Also, after installing it - how do I re-arrange all my files? I want to put my extensive music files on the new drive and keep my programs and documents on the original drive. Is this an easy process?

many thanks

Very Easy to do. Do you know if you have an IDE or SATA HD?

As Trizoy said, it's quite easy. Just make sure you set the jumper on the drive correctly, and remember you'll need to create a partition through Disk Management before using the drive.

As for rearranging your files, if it's just music, you can just move the files onto the new drive. This won't work for programs, of course, and if you want to put programs on the new drive you'll need to uninstall them and reinstall them with the new path.
