Well, theres a lot that can happen:

1. Blue Screen restarts whenever you do anything RAM intensive.
2. Computer wont Boot past BIOS entrance screen
3. Run memtest, if its error galore, then you have bad RAM.

I had the same problem you have for months, only fixed now.

and if it really goes bad, you'll get lots of beeps when you try to turn the computer on, usually more likely when installing new stuff

Hey, how long is MemTest supposed to run? And how many tests does it do? Mine ran over night for 7 hours and 40 minutes, and its still going. I have passed 21 tests, and failed 0. Am I supposed to just keep it running? How long does it go, and when do I know if my RAM is ok?

Thanks,

Derek

It would come up with loads of errors right away if the RAM has errors.

So it looks like it isnt a RAM problem.....

The HD is about 6 months old. It is SATA, pretty new. I think it could have been a driver with my video card. It wouldnt start, after I had gotten my new CPU. I then installed the driver, rebooted, and it didnt work. Then it got in, and it's worked since then. So maybe it just needed to be updated? Anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks,
Derek
