run computer sith no hard drive or ram?


is that possible? can i have no harddrive and ram and it will start? what about just no ram.

You can run it off of a linux boot disk but it HAS to have ram

k well will ddr ram work in an old computer that supports sdram (not really sure what ram it takes but thats a guess)

and are there any risks if i use the hard drive from my computer on that computer just to see if it works. like i wont lose any data will i?

Well depends on what you're going to do with the hard drive in the computer. It's just going to give you an error because it won't recognize the XP partition on the hard drive.

Most "older" computers all take SD. My 1.3GHz takes SD.



DDR wont even fit in the slot. You can get an 16MB stick off ebay cheap. MAybe even an 8MB.



There is no risk of taking your HDD out unless



1) You drop it

2) You didnt discharge yourself

3) You plug the SATA and 4 pin in.

Also depends on how old that system is, It could take the old EDO ram.
