RAM trouble....

I recently decided to add some more RAM to my computer.... I have 1g

right now, and I decided to add 1.25 more (2x .5g's and 1x .25g) I have four dimm slots and my original RAM is in Dimm B1. The other three sticks I put in the other three Dimm slots (Dimm B2, Dimm A1 and Dimm A2) The Dimm B2 works, but the other two Dimm slots arent reading the other two sticks, I know the RAM works, but could it be the M/B or do I need to go into BIOS or something to get it to read the RAM? Or did I put them in the wrong spots? Any input will help ..... my stats for my computer are below......

Thanks!

Well you got quite an assortment & configuration of ram. The two 512's, are they new memory sticks or something you already had? Ifnew, I'd trade them for 1 gig of exact same ram as you large stick and run them as duall channel.

We don't live here, don't bump after 15 minutes.

Well first thing, could you please refer to the RAM in MBs and GBs? e.g. .5g = 512MB, .25g=256MB, 1g= 1GB. It would really help to be less confusing.

What motherboard do you have? Are you trying to run the ram dual channeled? Try putting just the 1GB stick in one of the A slots and see if it reads it. If it doesn't, then there is most likely a problem with the motherboard.

That is probably the problem, that you are using incompatible RAM

Whoops...my bad Well it supports DDR400 RAM, but DDR333 should work as well. It all depends on how old the computers are. If it is DDR266, then it might or might not work.
