I need to know the difference

I am looking to buy an external hard drive. Does anyone know the difference between a (External HDD) and a (External Shared Storage Drive)? This is the site that I am looking at, it is confusing me.

sounds like one is meant as a shared network drive and the other is a normal usb external drive

Just get a regular Hardrive for that not the shared one
