A Build I Have In Mind...

Constructive Critisicm Please...

Right, I'm lookin for a comp that I can use for almost any task.
That includes gaming, media etc etc I dont want to be able to play games like Crysis on High detail I just want to be able to play the latest games on a bearable detail and fps.

This is what I've come up with so far (I have a budget of around £400 ($800))

Processor: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Processor-AM...7023355&sr=1-2

Motherboard:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/ECS-Motherbo...7021656&sr=1-1

RAM:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mega-Ram-Ddr...7021735&sr=1-1

GFX Card:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Inno3D-Gefor...021785&sr=1-16

Case:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/COLORS-8011L...7022143&sr=1-6

HDD:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Generic-Hard...7022305&sr=1-1

DVD Drive:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/LiteOn-LH-20...022912&sr=1-15

OS:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Wi...7023087&sr=1-1

Here is a basic list:
Motherboard: £32.88
Processor: £52.37
RAM: £68.87
GFX Card: £52.08
Case: £38.97
Hard Drive: £35.60
DVD Drive: £38.99
OS: £54.98
-------------------
Total: £374.74

Also I'm not too sure about the case and the compatibility with the Motherboard etc.
Not a field I'm very clued up on, just a confirmation about compatibility and system specs thanks.

May buy a heatsink...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/StarTech-com...7044937&sr=1-1

I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to let my local PC Store build it for around £20...

Thanks for all the help so far, just let me know what you think about the new AMD build and all the prices and whether all the Hardware with fit together snugly with all these socket sizes etc etc

Thanks again

You wont get very far gaming on that graphics card.

Look into a newer card maybe an 8800

Yeah, do not use that video card!!!

Get at the very least a GeForce 8500GT 256MB. They cost around $70 US.

That 7300le is worthless!

Kk, with a 8600GT that puts the price up to ?40 which isnt that bad.

What sort of games am I looking to play on full detail with that GFX card??

Any of the older games, and most of the newer ones.

Kk, is all the rest OK for what I want? And do you think the price is reasonable or would I be better trying to build it myself??

Thanx again

I would want at least 2 gigs of DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) memory instead of the 667 ram.

But otherwise it should be fine.'

If at all possible, build it yourself! Cheaper for you in the long run. But if you have no skills in that direction, there is nothing wrong with someone building it for you. As long as it's not Dell, HP, Packard bell.

he cant get ddr2800, the mobo doesn't support it. I suggest going with an AMD build to save money, comparable AMD cpu is almost 100 USD cheaper. You should also look for a better mobo, one that supports pc26400, or ddr2 800mhz RAM.

ill post up a build in one second

the total is like 890 USD, with 65 in mail in rebates. YOu could probably go cheaper on a few of the items(memory, psu, mobo) but thats generally what you want to get
