Ok so I reecently got a Laptop. Now what I'm wondering about is this. Its processor is a Centrinol 1.6 GHz processor, it has 1GB of RAM and a ATI MOBILITY X300 64MB VIDEO CARD. Now if I were to try and install a game that requires 512MB RAM, 64MB Video Card and a 1.7 GHz processor (like F.E.A.R) will it still run normally? I know that if everything on the computer is fine if like the RAM is say 480MB and the required is 512MB it works but is this the same for processor speed?
Thanks.
it will probably work, but not at a high level , probably on low settings.
If you have a GB ram how come its now 480 ?
it should be somewhere from 950+mb..
you should try it though

You can install and run it correctly, but performance will be lacking because your components.

How noticeable would the lack in performance be?
What if the game requires a 2.0 GHz processor? Will my 1.6 GHz processor be able to play that?

You'd be able to. Whether or not the game played well is another thing.
With that video card you should expect to play on low settings. And due to the un-upradeable nature of laptops I'm afraid you're stuck with it. :\

Weird, the mobile x300 seems to be better than the x300se. Well, you should be able to play fear at higher than all low. When I had my x300 as long as the shadows were off I could play it at decent settings at 1024x768.

Yes you'll be able to play it, not at max settings though.

Oh thats good then. Didn't matter if I couldn't play max settings, just as long as I could play it. And I know that CSS will work fine so yay.
Thanks.
