I am upgrading my RDRAM (Rambus). All the info I can find, including the RAM 101 sticky, says that RDRAM comes in 16 and 32 bit forms. However, 2 128 MB sticks currently in my system have PC800/8 printed on them. Does that mean they are 8 bit? And if so, does that also mean that new 16 bit RDRAM won't work?
Edit: Also, what does the 40 or 45 mean when the description reads PC 800/40 or 800/45?
Dell Dimension 8200, 1.8 Ghz if it matters, and I can't find specific info on my motherboard even though I looked through all my manuals and sales paperwork. Thanks for any help/suggestions!
