Could the HDD be to blame?

Alright, so I bought a new TV card a while back. When I play my VCR through it, it works fine. No jumping or skipping etc., but when I try to RECORD from the VCR to the computer, it will always jumps and skips and carries on.

Could my HDD be to blame? Or is it more likely the processor? I've got a freind who uses the same card, and can record perfectly so I'm not really worried about the card.

Also, please dont ask about my system specs etc. just say whether it is POSSIBLE or not for the HD to be the problem.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

What settings are you recording at? ULTRA EXTRA HIGH? Your card may not be able to capture that hi.. Try lowering it and see if it works better.

Just at the maximum the card has (it has low, medium, high). I havent put in any custom MAAAAASIVE settings yet. But i want to transfer my VCR tapes to DVD, so i need it to be decent quality.

And also, my porcessor is a Celeron 1.7g (funny, I know), 128mb RAM but as for the HD, i dont know as it is frgen well stuck in. Everybody i know has tried to unscrew the bastard, but it wont budge.
