ddr 333 vs 400 mhz

hey guys sorry im sure you have had this question before but im a nooooob!

well i just got my new set up and i used my old shit dell computer ram which was 2/ 512 mb modules 333 MHZ yesterday i bought 2/512 mb mods 400 MHZ from corsair at new egg.. my Asus a8n sli deluxe supports 4 ram slots can i use all these slots? and have 2 gigs but they dont run at full potential considering 2 are 333 and 2 are 444? thanks

You can use them all but yes they will not run at DDR400 speeds, I would just use the corsair sticks.

oh so it would be better to run 1 gig corsairs ram instead of dropping down to 333

think the 444 bit was a typo did you mean 400 ?



Just to note, make sure you match up the colours when you put the ram in so you make use of dual channel. So put both your corsair in blue, or both in black, but don't mix
