RAM Testing at startup!


Rite.. you no when a pc tests the ram at startup and it goes thru alll the numbers.. lol... sorry about that explanation.



Well... how can i stop it from doin this.. I know you can press esc on the keyboard but its just annoyin me cus its a car computer and it has no keyboard. Cheers!

You can disable it if you have a Mac but not on normal PC's

I had an old win98 machine that I could disable that in the bios. never looked at it in my computer. how long could it take though? I have 1gig ram and it's not noticable for me.



So what kind of carputer do you have? I'm interested in building one myself. Did you build/buy yours? The screen is the hardest thing for me to find, theres a million to choose from.

I'm not sure if this will help but this morning I wanted to turn that option on, so I went into the Configuration Settings, and I think it was in the Power Management section there's a POST option that I had to set to "Enhanced" in order to see the memory test. Be sure to set it to something other then Enhanced mode and it won't go through all the memory checks.
