Section 6 -- Addendum

When using a HD heat sink does it add life span add to your harddrive, Should I go to the trouble and spend money on HD cooler for a longer HD life?

BTW I read "Section 6 -- Addendum"

The only thing I could think of is what could it hurt? Having cooling on something that is going to generate heat is always going to keep it safer then just letting it get hot. I have water cooling on both my hard drives that are in RAID 0 config. Basically I did this just to have them water cooled and it does look very cool. But I never really thought of the fact that they would generate enough heat to really do any big time damage to themselves.
