Boot Problems?


Computer gets to the screen where it says boot in safe mode, last known configuration, safe mode with networking or normal mode and everytime i select anything it reboots

Give us a timeline describing when the computer was last working and any changes that could have been made (or occured) to the system.

I bought a new motherboard and processor along with memory and power supply the only thing that is the same is the cd rom drive and harddrive.....the harddrive is a 120gb western digital drive.........the processor is a intel celeron d 3.2 ghz and the motherboard is a intel desktop board D945GNT

Did you reinstall windows? if not thats the problem.. if you change the motherboard you gotta reinstall windows

When I go to reformat the drive i get an error that says sbp2port.sys is corrupted and it wont reformat

Is it a restore disk from dell, hp, compaq ect?

Well you can do it without reinstalling, but theres some things that need to be done before you changed the hardware(to late now). You could run a repair install if theres some stuff you need to keep. But a fresh install would be better.

its a windows xp professional cd I was trying to reformat and do a fresh install but i get the error
