anything wrong with oem drives


Hey guys....I was looking why are oem drives so much cheaper than going with retail packs......and to be honest? are they worth the S***?

it depends on what you buying. In my opioun it ok to buy oem in just about anything except I would not buy a oem motherboard.

so in all reality you would buy a oem harddrive? SO the only difference between those and the retail ones are that they don't come with driver cd's and such?

God, every component of my, pc is oem, including windows XP. the only retail kit in it is the memory, but the saving wasn't worth the money at the time.

I'd stay away from refurbished stuff, but an OEM in a sealed static bag and with warranty is just the same as retail (minus the drivers, cables, packaging of course)

Just out of pure curiosity what makes it OEM I mean I know it doesn't come with drivers and such but How did it become "OEM" in the first place?
