I've only got a 733 processor and I'm considering adding 512 of RAM. Will this make much of a difference speed and performance wise?

depends on how much of a difference your looking for, which in turn, depends on how much RAM your using now

My computer is 600, had 64ram, I replaced w/256 and not sure I could tell much diff. So now I am going to try another 256 (512 max on mine)to see it that helps. I use 2 database programs, also Outlook and Excel and then my system, user and GDI is about 25-25-25 and then I ready for a lockup. Then if I close everything, I never get back to where I was at boot 80-80-80. Now it is about 59-59-59. Now I don't know what the 256 was that I added, my computer calls for PC100

I think that it will make a samll differences but don't hold you breath for a burst in preformance.
I recon that the three major factors in good preformance are RAM (512MB dual channel), Processor (P4, 3.2GHz) and a good Hard Drive.

Only if your mobo can hold that amount....
Find the specs for your mobo. It probably will, but it doesn't hurt to be safe
