Questions about RAM

I was wanting to buy some used ram to upgrade an old P233 computer. What type of ram do i need to buy. Here is what it says on a piece removed from the computer

32mb PC-100 SDIMM

WBMOFF CEC43/103790

INV #106641

Can i just buy any PC-100 SDRAM??? How do I install it properly? Do I just take out the old and put the new in its place? Will the computer recognize this or do I need to somehow install it???

Thanks for your help in advance

What brand is your computer? If you find that out you can research your computer and model # and find out what motherboard it uses.

(Can also just google motherboard name and model) Then find out maximum suppported RAM and the largest modules it will let you use.

Usually you can buy any PC-100 or PC-133 RAM however, some venders like Compaq try to make things more difficult in those older models. But to be completely honest, depending on what you want to do with it, you aren't going to squeeze to much more life out of that old machine
