Average lifespan of a DVD+/-RW = 1,000

I paid like $20 for the 5 pack so even if they all quit working today I think I got my moneys worth and I would go buy 5 more.

Without a doubt, the new DVD+/-RW media lasts a lot longer then the earlier CD-R's, which only lasted upwards of 100 uses, if not less.

I'm not really sure, the price isn't much more for the DVD-RAM media. My guess would be that they aren't as popular because not as many DVD burners support that format, and their slower write speed.
