My Computer DVD Player

It's been like 6months and my computer dvd player doesn't work, and sometime if it manages to read the DVD it starts to freeze when it's going to play it, like the whole computer doesn't respond, and as soong as i put the DVD out my computer DVD player then the computer starts working again.

The PC is hanging when it tries to read the disc.... you said "Its been 6 months", since what? since you last used the drive? if so you may need to clean the laser inside, cleaning kits can be bought for little to nothing.

Other than that, check all cables are securely pushed in, do you have more than one drive you can test in?

Failing that, your drive has just kicked it, time to get a new one

No i meant it's been six months i've been going through this problem, like well first my drive is TSSTcorp TS-H492A CDrw/DVD, like it'll read cd's perfectly and burn them, bu when i instert a dvd drive it shows the little CD icon on the mouse, and nothing happened after that, so then i open my computer and i see the icon as if nothing is inside t he drive if i click open on the drive it just doesn't haev any DVD files on the inside, the other thing is if i use Power DVD that i have the whole computer will freeze once i click play then as soon as i take the disc out the computer works again.
