CD Drive Not Showing Up

I just got rid of Windows Vista and put XP back on my machine. Since I went back to XP, my CD Drive has not been showing up in my "My Computer", and I don't know of any other way to access stuff that is on a CD or DVD. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

1. You may have to go to Control Panel>System>Hardware, then Devices, find CD/DVD ROM and I guess it's Disabled, right click on it and Enable.

2. Maybe it's an invalid Windows which you have installed.

3. Maybe your CD/DVD ROM has ripped.
