Does it matter which DVD drive you buy?
The question is does it matter which dvd drive you buy? Do they all have the same connections and will fit every PC?

There are 2 types. IDE and SATA.
IDE is on the top. Sata on the bottom.

Ah i do have the ribbon connector, so if i have that it's deffinately IDE?

Yes, you have those two types in the picture shown above. You can get either one or the other.

Cheers, i ordered a Samsung 18x DVD-RW-RAM drive, one of the cheapest going on the site but i needed a new sound card and pro headset too
