I'm looking to buy a lightscribe dvd-ROM for my computer...

Would this be a good choice?

Can it etch in color?

Thats nice, no it can't etch in color only a graphite color.. you can however buy different color lightscribe disks other than the average tan/brown colored ones

Yeah, but i would recommend a SATA model... its better and no bulky IDE cable

i prefer IDE, ive never worked with SATA and i know very little about it.

SATA is easier, and faster. If you have a SATA connection available on your mobo, just plug the OD in. It's that simple. You don't need to mess with jumpers or worry about primary/secondary settings.
