I have two DVD burners on my PC.
1) LiteON SOHW-1633S
2) Samsung SH-S162L
The LiteOn will play and read DVD's. It won't read CD-ROMS, music CD's or burn anything. So thinking that it was too old I bought the Samsung.
The Samsung won't play or read DVD'S. But it will play/read CD-ROM's, music CD's, and burn both DVD-R/CD-R.
What the hell?? Can someone tell me what could be the problem. Or do I just happen to have two defective drives? Here are links with more info about the drives:
