My CD drive dissapeared the other day. I went to sleep and left my computer on. When i woke up the next morning my D drive was not showing up on my computer, and teh drive would not open. I have no clue wat is wrong with it. I checked and it is plugged in. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Could try taking it out n then plugging it back in, windows will respond to it and hopefully reinstall it for you.
Edit: You say the drive will not open, do you mean the Disk tray?
If so try re plugging in the Molex.

I have a similar problem. One day my D drive just disappeared. It's plugged in and opens when i press the button, and the drivers are all installed. The computer just doesn't seem to want to detect the hardware. I've tried unplugging it and plugging it in again, and i've tried putting in a completely different drive. Nothing works. Any suggestions?
