When I'm playing GTA3 my DVD drive keeps screwing up and I need to open and close the tray to unfreeze the game so I can keep playing. I'm guessing this is because there is too much going on and the drive can't handle it or something along that line.
Anyone know why this is happening and if there is a solution?
I had a drive with the same problem. I looked it up on Google and I read that it is caused by the lens going bad... There is no way to replace it, but DVD drives are cheap.. :\

Yeah it seems like your lense is giving up on you.. You just need a new dvd rom probably.. it's not impossible to replace the lense.. but with DVD drives the price they are today.. you'd be better just to get a new one like Habanerosky said.

my drive reads and recognizes disks but then freezes before they open
