Cd Burner


Ok well I have a liteon edition cd burner.. I had it in a old computer that I bought.. But the power supply caught on fire for that computer.. And someone told me nothing in the computer now will work.. If i put the cd burner in another computer will it work?? It dont look like anything happened to the cd burner.. It dont look like it caught on fire or anything.. So will i be able to still use the cd burner??

I'd try it. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. New burners are pretty cheap nowadays.

I'd try it too. It could be damaged from a short in the burning ps, smoke coating the laser and over-temperature damage if the pc got really hot.



If "someone" told you nothing would work without seeing the pc I would take a good look at the pc. Depending on the physical damage from the fire, you may find that cleaning out debris, soot, melted wire etc and replacing the ps is all that is needed. I'd try getting hold of a cheap or old ps and give that a shot too.
