dvd drive disk compatability

I have an HP laptop, the cd/dvd drive is the TOSHIBA ODD-DVD SD-R6252. is this drive compatable with any kind of dvd9? nero infotool says it can write to DVD-R DL and DVD+R DL but its not recognizing a DVD+R DL. also i cant find any info on this drive elsewhere.

if it says it is compatible, it should be, I would look at it maybe being a software issue in your case

software as in burning software or as in drivers? and how would i resolve it.

burning software or even reading software, the firmware for the device should be there since it was sold as a dual layer drive. And beyond just typical ide drivers, I don't think those are going to help out any
