Actually the only real difference is price between the two. Both are quality drives without a doubt. I would go with the NEC because of the price and because I know that their drives are of high quality and perform very well. However, if you like Pioneer better, go with that. It's really up to you. Either way, you will not regret it.



P.S.: I have the ND-3520AW and it's an excellent DVD burner. I have yet to encounter a coaster.
