cd-rom and cd-rw drive not working right

once in a while my computer will just not reconize either of my cd-rom drives or my cd-rw drive i restart my computer and its fixed. i tryed reinstalling the drivers that didnt work, recently i have re formatted my hard drive and it even still doesnt reconize the cd rom drives (not all the time though) is this from my bios (up to date) or a faulty motherboard or what anyone that can help me please do

wat do u mean by sayin it doesnt work? and does your drive support both ( 1 drive with cd/dvd-r ) it could be the drive.. just a prediction

the whole system doesnt reconize either of the cd-rom drives i go to my computer they arent there and when i even try to open the drives nothing happens it doesnt open and then i restart and its fine. ive had my cd-rom drives in there together for a few years now (since i got the computer) and just within the past few mabie about 6 months. i just realized it might even be the power cords loose which would be why they wont open ill check that any other suggestions anyone?

maybe your power supply doesn't have enough power to run all your hardware

well im pretty sure that the problem is fixed. i unpluged everything from the power supply and pluged it back in and it seems to work so far if not then i will think about mabie getting new ide and/or power supply. thanks all

well i thought that it was fixed untill just a little bit after i posted this message i went to burn a cd and none of my actual drives were there my virtual ones were though. i just restarted and it all is better.
