Mpeg - Dvd

Hi y'all



I have an MPEG file (from an old VCD) that I want to convert on to DVD. For some reason my normal video editing software (Intervideo WinDVD Creator) won't do the job - it normally has no problem.



I have used an evalution copy of Cucusoft's MPEG - DVD converter which does the job without problem, but being an evaluation copy leaves a "watermark" in the middle of the screen. I normally wouldn't have a problem paying $30 for a piece of software which does exactly what it advertises - but on this occasion it seems a bit of a waste of money as I will have no further use for it.



Does anyone have any suggestions of any freeware that might be up to the job?

perfect free software http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/ if that doesnt work or is a trial version and it sux. PM and give me ur AIM or MSN and i will send you the full version of the software from there or for any trouble or questions u have. oh and dvd read .ifo, and some dvd players can have .mp4 files (mpeg 4)

DVD players should be able to play mpeg files (or at the very least, VCDs, which are basically structured mpeg files). I don't see any reason to convert your mpeg to a DVD, since the quality isn't gonna get any better.

DVD players cannot play VCD's unless it's the DVD player on your computer, a regular dvd player can play SVCD's.

Not true. Over 90% of stand-alone DVD players support VCD as well as SVCD. I would agree with aimless in post#3 - there's really no point in a conversion.

Thanks everyone for your replies - I appreciate your time. My DVD player will play VCD's - but there are two discs and I'm sick of having to swap round half way through and both discs would fit onto one DVD.



I'll be trying out the videora stuff though - see how it does.
