DVD-RW x2


hello everyone, i got 2 dvd-RW's one master and the other one slave and i have update both there drivers but there both not reading dvd's or cd's like there spouse to be doing

Did you plug the power connector into them? And did you plug in the IDE cable to them and to the motherboard? If you did, did you connect them the right way?

yeah both the dvd-RW's are working alright and i got these Round blue Female IDE calbes x2 but i'm really not sure if there connected the right way i'll see if i can get and img, one end is Black and the other is Blue

The blue end should plug into the motherboard, then there should be a big gap, then another connector, a small gap, and another connector. Those 2 last ones should be plugged into your drives.

ok now the slave is working alright but the master is'nt and i've got noth the blue ends hooked up to the mobo, any thoughts?

Do you have any extra ide slots on the board, might try hooking both of the dvd-rw's up seperately. The slave works, try making it the primary slave, and see if the other will work as master on it's own.

i just have the 2 IDE slots and both of them have been hooked up, 1 master and one slave

i'll try making them both master and if that does'nt work i'll try making them both salve and i'll get back to you if it works or not

So you have a sata hard drive, and the only ide devices you have are the 2 dvd-rw's and they are both on seperate ide's? They should both be master if this is the case. Check in bios that the IDE detection is set to auto detect.
