My E drive suddenly has insisted on not opening
as of three days ago
it makes two clicks sounding like it is making a real effort
but it does stay closed shut
any ideas gentlemen???
it just does not want to open

Usually there is a emergency eject hole on the front of the drive. It will be a tiny hole, so try sticking like a straightened paperclip in there until it opens up.

Man must be a old one, I have a old 2X drive that has the manual eject hole

I suggest you buy a new one. If there is a CD still in the old one, just take the drive out and unscrew the cover. The CD should be visible in the tray.
