Both Drives Gone

Both my drives Sony DVD and DVD-RW are recognised but i cant use them. I get this message from the device manager.

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)



I uninstalled them both and tried to reinstall them but i get the same message.

I also tried getting an updated driver but it says: The wizard cannot find a better match then the drivers you have already installed.



Whats going on

I have seen many people reporting the same problem. A good idea would be to use the repair option of the Windows OS. It should replace the files with originals. The drivers Windows installs in your case are the problem (corrupt) and therefore the corrupt ones are reinstalled. Although I am not entirely sure of this, I think that it could solve the problem.
