D drive not finding disk

I am having a problem whenever I try to burn a music CD. The drive does not see the disk. It says "please insert disk". It will not see that there is a disk in there even when there is. Any ideas what I should do?

is your cd drive capable of burning cds

Have you got more that one CD/DVD drive? if so, do you have the blank CD in the right drive. Also check that the Burning software has the correct drive selected.



Is the Blank CD inserted with the correct side up... some Blank CDs without labels look almost identical on both sides!



Is your CD Burner Drive supported by your burning software?

Is it some very cheap media? That could play a role as well.

Yes my burner works. I have used it in the past. It worked up until last week. I only have one drive.
