Problems with DVD-RW/CD-RW

Hi, I have a Vaio desktop with 2 drives. One is DVD-RW/CD-RW and the other is DVD-ROM. The DVD-RW is HL DT ST DVD-RW GWA 4040B.



Untill recently, I was able to burn CDs on the above drive; but of late, I cannot burn CDs (though I can burn DVDs). I have tried cleaning the laser head by CDrom cleaner. The burning process goes on smoothly, and there are no error messages (it says - burn completed successfully); but the end result is still a blank CD...



I am using Nero 5.5 and also have used RealPlayer for burning the CDs. I have this problem with both the softwares.



Any suggestions..?????????? Thanks in advance..

It sounds like the laser has gone, are you able to try it on another computer?

have you tried the burnt cd's in another computer, or if theyre adio, in a cd player?

You need to try another burning app. Try CopyToDVD , it has a 21 day trial version. To find out if it's your drive or if it's Nero
