I am having a problem with my CD drive. It is an ATAPI DVD+RW 4x4x12. My computer is not finding the drive. Whenever i go to device manager then click on the drive it says that "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)". I have tried to reinstall it but i still get the same message and i have also tried to update the driver but i have the newest one. Does anyone have any ideas what is wrong? Thanks

control panel -> system -> hardware -> device manager -> IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers .... most of the time optical drives are on your secondary ide, so -> right click secondary ide channel -> uninstall ... reboot, your O/S will reinstall it.
