DVD media lifetime?

Ok I know this depends on the quality of materials used as well as the environment in which the media is stored. However, Verbatim (MCC) claims that their DVD+Rs will last readable for over a 100 years. What do you think of that? I have heard people say their DVD-Rs have gone bad in a year.

lol ... I don't know why they would make a statement like that. I'll never know if they last that long



My verbatims still play a year later w/ no problems.
