hi i just installed a new video card for my computer
and it worked fine except for when i try to play video files in windows media player...if any1 can help me out with this problem id appreciate it.
btw..when i did system restore my windows media player worked fine than i reinstalled my drivers for the video card and than the files in windows media player began to freeeze my computer again.
Have you tried reinstalling codecs, such as CCCP or K-light?

Just download one of them, the installer does all the work

Video card has nothing to do with watching/playing videos.

Youtube is flash based, the codecs needed to play the videos are located in the browser flash plugin, it's a different issue.

haha thanx..i downloaded all tha codecs and still wont work...
does any1 know if i am supposed to install something additional so that video files will work with my new video card?

actully all of my media playing applications freeze when i try to play a video...but when i go back to a system restore be4 my video card was installed the videos work fine...than i reinstall my video card and than the videos no longer work..does any1 know what i shuld do?

How did you reinstall the video drivers, through the cd, or through the manufacture website,

http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html
If you don't have updated drivers, install them now from the above, see if that helps at all.
