Hd 3850

I have been finding some awesome deals on the ATI HD 3850. Based on the system in my sig, would it be a worthy upgrade from the 7900 gs XXX to the 3850? I don't really require an 8800 or 3870 and only game at 1280 x 1024, but I am really starting to notice that the 7900 is getting tired in some of the newer games running at 1280 by 1024. Thanks for your feedback in advance.

For the price, the 3850 is a outstanding card. It would certainly be an upgrade.

The HD3850 is an awesome card. iIve had personal experience with it and I've got to say it is the best Bang for the Buck you can find. It can run Crysis with a mixture of highs and mediums. With no AA and stuff it can run it at high with a few slowdowns during firefights. Buying this card would be a very good choice.

actually a year ago when i was originally going to build a new computer the 7900gs is what i was going to get. i waited a year to build and for the same price as the 7900gs was a year ago i got the 3850. it's definitely in the top 10 best performing cards currently, maybe in the top 5 within reason. and it's just a hair over $150. definitely worth the money. i was just running 1368x768 or something close in Portal (The Orange Box) with very high detail running at about 175 fps average.
