cannot get digital...

so i have the sasung syncmaster 940b w, which has analog and digital input... then i have a new computer with a 8800gtx with digital output..my video card came with 2 analog to digital converters, because it only has digital output, so i have to use it.... then i use it for mymonitor the same way, so then it should now be digital right?? but then it had no signal at all... what can i do to get digital? and is it really that much better?

Are you saying you attached a digital to analog converter to your monitor, and to your graphics card, and then used an analog cable between them?



That won't work. You'll either need to plug the analog cable into your monitor directly (only use the adapter on the graphics card) or buy a DVI cable and use no adapters at all.



The reason it comes with two adapters is because it has two digital outputs (in case you want two analog outputs). Never use an adapter on an input.

Yes, the digital/analog adapters are for using your card's digital output as an analog output, not for turning your monitor's analog input into a digital input.



The only way to get a digital signal is to use a DVI cable.
