8800GT Overheat?

I was playing Gears of War and after a while my screen just froze and it had red bars (lines) all over (I'll try to get a picture as an example). At first I thought that it may be my GPU was overheating, but I checked the temps. and they're all fine. If I'm at stock speeds it takes about an hour or two until the game will freeze, if I'm overclocking however, it happens right away.



The 3rd time this happened, and error screen came up explaining whats going on. Apparently whats happening is that my display drivers stop working in the middle of a game.



What should I do...is there any fix to this?



P.S. I have the latest nVidia drivers.

THIS HAPPENS TO ME TOO!!!!!! except that it does it to every game i have... it seems random enough but when i unplug everything like sound cards extra usb stuff and even lan cables it seems to run just fine (i have not played it for more than 30min like this cuz with out sound whats the point) i have a 1000watt psu and that shouldn't be the problem



the hottest i have ever gotten my card is 65C and thats everything at stock speeds because i have a 64bit os and i guess some of the fun overclocking and fan control stuff.



I have emailed evga about it but will not get a response till Tuesday at the earliest. i hope i get this figured out soon!!!



other info i get a 4557 on 3dmk06 with this card and a 3ghz Pentium 4
