Nvidia 5900 ULTRA, pwns 3850 hands down.



Just kidding, 3850 is a little over your budget, ($180ish) much better price/performance ratio than an 8600.

I wouldn't have called the 3850 a budget card, or are they a lot cheaper in the US? Over here they are about the same as an 8800, while an 8600 is budget at less then half the price (and half the power).

Cheapest 8800 - $220 (8800GT 256MB) roughly.



ATI HD3850 - $170-$180... (Cheapest HD3850. Diamond/Sapphire I think).



It's not much of a difference, but I wouldn't get the 256MB version anyways. Next is the $280 512MB 8800GT...
