Vista On A 32''

Every time I try to attach my 32'' DVI to HDMI cable to my computer, nothing shows up. I attach my VGA to DVI to my computer and the 17'' works.

What do I need to do?

I am on an 8800GT.

Thanks.

Faulty connector perhaps?

It's probably a resolution issue. When you have your 17" monitor, change the resolution to 1360x768, or if it doesn't support that then set it to 1024x768, since both monitors will support it.

I explained that on the other thread started earlier at Installing Vista

The default vga drivers found in XP and Vista alike will support upto the 1280x1024 once the monitor is detected when Windows is first going through the hardware detection process upon the initial setup. But you then have to see the correct drivers go on for the large monitor that will still have to be redetected later. The native resolution for any large sized is generally over what will be recognised.
