added more ram now comp wont start up


i added some more ram to tower now monitor will not turn on if i unplug it from tower it turns on and says no signal plug back in and it goes off. what is happening and how do i fix it

Give us some more information, system specs please? and what kinda of motherboard and graphics card?

What kind of ram did you put in?

Sounds like the ram isnt installed correctly or is incompatible with your motherboard.

prob on daughters computer was running windows 98 put xp onit worked fine but was slow as it only had 64mb of ram tried to put 128mb in aswell then prob started took ram back out and it still wont start up monitor lights stays orange only goes green when i unplug monitor cable from tower think motherboard is asus cusl2-m needed to ungrade ram to put wireless adaptor in for broadband ram was pc100 128 it had pc100 64 in already

Obviously take all the ram out and Re-seat it And do this with everything else on the motherboard.ive known if you mix ram you can damage both That could be your problem.try using your pc on another monitor and see if it still says amber or vise verse.

FIXED problem looked at another foum avised to hoover dust from ram port and replug all connection then computer booted up and then took all the ram i put now running on 356mb ram instead of 64mb
