monitor doesn't read video card, i think?

has anyone had this happen to them before? My monitor doesn't pickup signal from my video card, because the computer turns on, and all the fans spin, but nothing appears on screen. The video card is relatively new, it's a 6600GT. Any ideas what it could possibly be? A bad monitor maybe?

It could be anything, from RAM, to your motherboard to your processer....Make sure everything is plugged in and connected in the case. The only reson why the moniter wouldn't "read" the card is a loose cable.

I'd suspect a hardware problem before monitor problem. Video's the last thing a computer checks and all during POST. If something else fails, you get a blank screen.

Most computer that don't detect a monitor will give you a beep code. Oh what was it...2 long beeps and 3 short...or something like that
