We recently purchased a Sony VAIO media center pc and upgraded with a GeForce7800 GT. We are looking to run our 55" plasma tv from this computer. As you can imagine, I would like to get this all running ASAP. Now the problem is, everywhere I go, someone tells me to hook up the GeForce to the plasma different. I was told to go from vga and get a vga-component adapter to go to the tv. I was told to go from S-video, and I was told to go from DVI to HDMI. I want the highest quality picture possible on the plasma, so I thought that the DVI to HDMI was the way to go. Now one of the other guys said he tried the DVI to HDMI and he had "formatting issues". I now know what he meant by this. Everytime I change the resolution on my desktop I have to do overscan(or something like that) feature so that the desktop takes up the whole screen. Also, on any resolution, the words are very hard to read and look messed up. Also, on any game I try and play the game only takes up like 1/3 of the screen. On a side note, the max resolution that battlefield2 lets me select is 1024x780 which doesn't seem right. Any help would be appreciated.
