Manual says this, computer that

I'm kinda confused, I've always thought my KT3V motherboard supports up to 4X AGP. According to my computer, but now I looked it up in the motherboard manual. And there it says "Setting options: 1x, 2x, 4x, Auto." But it also says earlier on in the manual this "The mainboard supports 4x/8x 1.5V AGP card." I guess it's 4x but I'm not 100% sure about that. Anybody know anuthing about this or do you have any theories?

Yes, but it seems like it's running at 4x.

To me it seems that it basically supports AGP 8X cards but runs them at 4X. In other words, it cannot handle 8X but uses the 4X. This will work because all 8X cards work at 4X mobos.

I wonder if updating the BIOS would allow it to run the card(s) at 8x?

I would doubt it, since it depends on the hardware.
