Refresh rate?

What is the refresh rate on my monitor settings for, and what should I set it at? I have A compaq 9500 19" crt! I have settings for 60 70 72 75 85 100 and 120hz!

What ever you like, I run my 19" at 1280x1024 @85Hz

refresh rate is how quickly the screen refreshes itself. the higher it is, the better for the eys. but the higher the resolution, usually results in the refreesh rate being lower
