i might be buying a new mobo and i see most of them have like nforce 4 sli. but i have an ati x800xl, so i have 2 questions. Is my x800xl like not compatibale with the nforce series mobo? and can i crossfire with an nforce sli mobo or do i ahve to get like an ati series mobo?
o and sry if this belongs in motherboards instead of video cards
It's compatible using 1 card. However, only nVidia cards are able to use the SLi feature on an SLi capable motherboard.
If you later want to get 2 ATi cards and use Crossfire, you'll have to buy a Crossfire compatible motherboard.
But again, using a single ATi card in an NF4 board will work fine, you just wont be able to use SLi if you get a second card later.

o ok but i havent seen that many crossfire compatible cards on newegg.com. it could be that im just not looking hard enough
